Fiver Fest is coming!

Only those who are independent businesses are eligible to take part though, so no franchises, or those with a head office etc, as the aim is to support small indies.

Fiver fest is a national initiative that has been up and running in many parts of the country. It is next happening from 12th to 26th March, and Penrith is taking part !  It is a chance for independent businesses to use their collective power to encourage people back to their town centres, to say thank you to customers who supported them during these testing times and to prove once again, that the small guys can compete with the online giants and supermarkets.  Most of all, it’s about demonstrating the postive impact on local economies of spending just £5 a week in your local high street.

Businesses taking part put on special £5 offers over two weeks, to show the diversity and value of what they sell and supply, and to say thank you to the communities that support them.  The businesses taking part can be retail, hospitality or service.  Offers can be a 2 for 1 deal for £5, or an add on for £5, or a higher priced item for £5, the options are endless, and every business can take part. The better your offer, the more appealing to customers. If you need more inspiration, head to the TotallyLocally pages online.

Graphics have been attached, for social media use, and to print out for your business. BID has kindly funded the printing for Vinyl Banners, which will be displayed around town.  Penrith Posters are also printing 100 posters, to use in your shop window, to show you are taking part and what your offer is. So easy!.  We are active on social media, Instagram @totallylocallypenrithcumbria, Facebook is to follow shortly.  The Herald are also featuring the event, to spread the word to the public…It’s a collaborative effort, the more who take part, the more successful it is. Penrith is fortunate to have so many amazing independent businesses, so we want to celebrate that.

If anyone would like to take part, or can help, or would like more information, please contact Sarah, at Wild Ivy Floral Design, or Grace at Moon On The Hill.  we would love to hear from you !

Many thanks, Sarah and Grace
