Daily Update: Hospitality, AGM and Winter Droving
I hope this email finds you well and enjoying a good level of trade now the schools have gone back.
I’ve been sent a useful blog, which whilst aimed at hospitality businesses, may have advice for others. Written by Nighttime Economy Solutions they have done an FAQs page from the lessons they have learnt in dealing with a Covid-19 Outbreak in hospitality venue:
Also, don’t forget it’s the BID AGM tonight at 6pm and there is still time to join the virtual meeting if you have a question for BID, want to find out about what we’ve been up to, or want to have an input into our future plans. Please email me and I’ll send you joining instructions to Microsoft Teams.
Thank you to all those of you who sent in ideas for our ‘Refresh’ project. We are pulling together a plan with the suggestions we’ve already had, such as tidying shop fronts, street artwork, additional signage. Whilst this project was originally going to be as a direct response to Covid-19, we’ve now got a wider remit based on the suggestions coming in. So, if you’ve had a thought but not sent it in, it’s not too late! Just email me your ideas and I can add them to the mix.
Finally, I’m sure you will have seen the plans for Winter Droving are starting to take shape. BID have given a grant to Eden Arts to fund a Covid-19 secure event, as described below. Please encourage friends, family, staff and colleagues to submit their images (Eden Arts have an ongoing Facebook campaign at the moment asking for submissions):
Winter Droving Windows (Penrith BID sponsored element): We will ask local people to submit pictures of themselves in WD masks/costume. Selected entries, chosen by the EA team, will be photographed and images will appear in large format using vinyl stickers on empty shop windows in Penrith Town Centre and potentially other non-empty shops could also join in. We are currently liaising with landlords to gain permissions. The work will be on display for a minimum of 9 days – 24th Oct – 1st Nov.
