Covid-19 Daily Update: Penrith Food Bank

 

A quick message for businesses involved with food.
 
Councillor Virginia Taylor from Eden District Council has been in touch with the BID.  She is working with the Town Council “to set up a new system where unsold fresh food can be distributed. This is a change to the existing food bank system, which model is in any case not really working now.”
 
She asks “I wonder whether you and your members might have any thoughts about setting up such a scheme and how it can work well for recipients and businesses too?”
This could be a great asset for our local community and your input at this early stage would be appreciated. Please can you let me have your thoughts and ideas by return of mail and I will consolidate them and respond on behalf of BID.
