Cabinet Office information on Lockdown 3

 

Please see today’s key updates which cover: the introduction of the National Lockdown; Business support and Key/Critical Workers

National Lockdown
Yesterday the Prime Minister announced a national lockdown and instructed people to stay at home to control the virus, protect the NHS and save lives. For more information, see here.

Business support
Today the Chancellor announced the following to support businesses and protect jobs. More details can be seen here. For full details of the support available to businesses, see here.

The announcements include:

  • One-off top up grants for retail, hospitality and leisure businesses worth up to £9,000 per property to help businesses through to the Spring.
  • £594 million discretionary fund was also made available to support other impacted businesses.
  • Comes in addition to £1.1 billion further discretionary grant funding for Local Authorities, Local Restriction Support Grants worth up to £3,000 a month and extension of furlough scheme.

Key/Critical workers
Children of critical/key workers can return to school. For more information, see the link here.
